The Cards Tell the Tale (III): Borrowed advisor trio?
In the HONOR’S VEIL set, we get a trio of personalities, plus a follower card, by Carl Frank. Frank is one of the original artists for L5R. starting from the very first set and kept on contributing art for quite a long time.

At a guess, I’d say this art piece wasn’t originally designed for the card game, but as the cover for a rulebook or box for the Clan War miniatures game. I’m really not sure if this was actually used for a published product (in which case, I don’t know which one, but my books are on storage so I can’t check) or promotional image, or was maybe an unused cover for a something that was left unpublished due to the closing of the line. Of course, I may be wrong and this notion has come to me just because Carl Frank art was used extensively on the Clan War minis line, probably because of his detailed, realistically proportioned style, which was very appropiate for this line of product. This image portrays what seems a command group, gathering together samurai of several Clans, so maybe it was for some kind of advanced rulebook?
