The first expansion for L5R was published in May 1996. It developed 2 factions (Scorpion Clan and Naga), as well as adding cards to the factions featured in the core set. Includes 153 unique cards, of which two are updates of cards present in Imperial Edition: “The Terrible Standard of Fu Leng” had a new ability, reflecting a macabre plot-twist, and “Bayushi Hisa” that technically was NOT the same card as “Hisa”. This set was the first one to include the Experienced keyword, which had several characters getting mechanically different versions, representing their evolution within the story.
